As we all know, it’s recommended that babies be offered breastmilk when they are between age 0-6months and at 6months complementary feeds can be introduced while breastfeeding should continue until your baby turns two. Milk like the cow’s milk, almond milk, oat milk and the likes are nutritious but they do not contain all the required nutrients baby needs at this stage of their development so they shouldn’t be offered any of these as a drink or as a replacement to breastmilk or formula before they turn one. You can cook or prepare your baby’s meals with any of the milk mentioned above but they shouldn’t be offered to babies as a drink until their first birthday. As you introduce complementary food at 6months, it’s important you are guided on specific important areas when it comes to feeding babies and getting them to love nourishing meals
Full cream milk, fortified full cream milk, plant based milk like almond milk, cashew nut milk, oat milk can be used in preparing baby food but do not offer them as a drink before your baby’s first birthday.
Don’t leave out allergies or any reaction especially when you are introducing any type milk for the first time
